Alissa Roca

Alissa Roca, soprano, has been praised for her ethereal coloratura and clear, powerful, expressive voice. She is particularly known for her work in contemporary music, and frequently works with composers including Jesper Koch, Joseph Thalken, Dan Welcher, Michael Daugherty, and Jason Mulligan. She has premiered over eighteen pieces including a full-length concert drama and a set of songs of her own texts.

She has worked as a soloist with the Dallas Symphony, The Dallas Winds, the Meadows Symphony, the Miami Bach Society, Voices of Change Contemporary Music Ensemble, the University of Texas New Music Ensemble, and spent three years starring in The Dallas Opera’s touring productions of Mozart’s Bastien and Bastienne and Offenbach’s Pépito. She has also produced and performed numerous solo recitals. 

Roca holds both a Master of Music and a Performer’s Diploma from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Miami. This season’s highlights include Corigliano’s Mr. Tambourine Man with Voices of Change, the World Premiere of Jesper Koch’s song cycle Tombstones, Christmas at the Meyerson with The Dallas Winds, and a Concert Tour with her trio, The Sterling Trio.
