Brian James Myer
Praised as a “robust-voiced” and “buttery baritone” (The New York Times), Brian James Myer capped his 2018-2019 season starring in the world premiere of Iain Bell’s and Mark Campbell’s Stonewall at New York City Opera. A Puerto Rican native of Las Vegas, Mr. Myer sang his first Carmina Burana with the Hawaii Symphony in 2018, joined New York City Opera in 2019 as Young Erich in Dear Erich, and returned to Opera Orlando to sing Fiorello and Bert (formally known as Berta) in their new production of The Barber of Seville. During the 2019-2020 season, Mr. Myer returns to Opera San Jose as Dr. Falke In Die Fledermaus, debuts at Knoxville Opera as Mercutio in Roméo et Juliette, debuts as Figaro in The Barber of Seville with Opera on the James, and debuts as Masetto in Don Giovanni at the Berkshire Opera Festival.
Mr. Myer will be singing the role of Figaro in the Opera on the James production of Barber of Seville at the Historic Academy Theatre on March 27th and 29th, 2020.
