Christopher Plaas

Tenor

Tenor Christopher Plaas recently performed with Salt Marsh Opera as Monostatos in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and with Knoxville Opera as Arturo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. Past performances include Gastone in Verdi’s La Traviata for Indianapolis Opera, the Teacup in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges for New York Lyric Opera, and Tony in Bernstein’s West Side Story for Parkway Playhouse.  Studies abroad include performances as Fenton in Nicolai’s Die lustige Weibern von Windsor at Theater Rudolstadt in Germany, and Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at Franco American Vocal Academy (FAVA) in Austria.  He has received awards from the John Alexander Vocal Competition (Mississippi Opera) and the Rosen-Schaffel Competition in North Carolina. Christopher received his Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Appalachian State University, and his Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from East Tennessee State University.
