David Catalano
Baritone
Baritone David Catalano recently earned his master’s degree in vocal performance from the University of Houston, where he studied voice with Professor Hector Vasquez. Previous roles for David include Doctor Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Horace Tabor in The Ballad of Baby Doe, the title role in Giulio Cesare, Taddeo in L’Italiana in Algeri, Ottone in L’incoronazione di Poppea, and Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. David spent two summers, 2017 and 2018, performing as an Emerging Artist with Seagle Music Colony. During the summer of 2019, David won the Bell Encouragement Award at the James Toland Vocal Arts Competition in Oakland, CA, and was the United States’ sole representative at the International Voice of the Future Competition held in Llangollen, Wales, where he finished as a semi-finalist.
