Accompanist and vocal coach Thomas Getty is the resident coach and Director of OOTJ’s Tyler Young Artist Program, joining the company in 2011. Additionally, he has over 20 years’ experience as a former member of the music staff at Central City Opera in Colorado, where he accompanied audition classes for Artistic Director Emeritus John Moriarty, classes in acting and movement, opera scenes, prepared main stage productions, and provided music direction for the chamber operas The Face On The Barroom Floor, Signor Deluso, The Medium, and Trouble in Tahiti.  He also provided supertitles for main stage performances.   As an adjunct faculty member of Kean University in New Jersey, he provided music direction and coaching for opera workshop classes and various musical productions by the Kean University Theater Department. He is the former principal coach of Utah Opera and former Associate Artistic Director of Anchorage Opera.
